Welcome to the Homepage
of The Morecambe Bay Writers
We all met at a Creative Writing class that was held at the Lancaster and Morecambe college., Tom Johnson, our dear friend and our only male member, Who, before his untimely death, suggested that we hold a ‘summer school’ in Morecambe library to fill a void that was created in the summer holiday in 2006,
It proved so enjoyable that we continued after the death of Tom and dedicated the book, ‘A Bowl of Cherries’ to him. As well as writing the material we proof-read it ourselves and also self- published. You will be able to read a little about us and enjoy some examples of our work in the book when you visit our web site.. The only help we had was with the cover, which was the work of Ken Roxbrough, and from the local printers! Our second book was published, namely ‘Breath of Sea Air.’ We have now successfully completed our third, ‘Shorts from the Seaside’. We have read a collection of our pieces on the local radio, been invited to read at a number of meetings in the area, and we are still writing in 2012..
